今日は Hong Kong(香港) と China(中国) のあいだで起きている問題についてです！

対立の起源
Hong Kong（香港）は今のところ中国の一部なのですが、独立を求める動きが続いているんです。
この問題は1842年にイギリスが Hong Kong(香港) を占拠したことにはじまっていて、新たな収入源、植民地先として 中国をえらんだイギリスは、Hong Kong(香港) における支配を始めたんですね。
第二次世界大戦のときは日本が Hong Kong(香港) における支配を始めたのですが、日本が負けた戦後にはイギリスの影響力がまた強くなるんです。
そんな中、Hong Kong(香港) はイギリスの影響もあって、産業を中心に経済的な成長を進めます。
1997年にイギリス支配がおわると、Hong Kong(香港) は中国の一部に戻るのですが、"one country, two systems" と呼ばれるように、"共産主義の国である中国の一部ではあるが、資本主義の経済システムや部分的な民主主義を Hong Kong(香港) は続けていく" ことが決まるんです。
中国で民主化運動
この頃は、中国の首都 Beijing(北京) にある Tiananmen Square というところで1989年に中国の民主化を求める大規模な抗議活動が起きていたりして、民主化の動きは中国にとっては脅威だったんですね。
それでも、Hong Kong(香港) の経済力や海外諸国へのアクセスなどは共産主義で閉鎖的であった中国にとっては大事だったわけです。
こうして、中国という一つの国の中で ”Hong Kong(香港) の西洋的なシステム” と "中国の強力なリーダーによる厳しい管理的なシステム” が共存してきたわけですが、やはり中国は Hong Kong(香港) も他の地域と同様に厳しく管理したいんです。
そのため、中国は Hong Kong(香港) における選挙に規制をもうけたり、一人っ子政策が施行されなかったHong Kong(香港) に行く妊婦を規制するなど影響力を強めていくんですね。
こういった状況の中で、Hong Kong(香港) の人々は中国からの独立を求めて抗議活動をおこしているわけです。

Hong Kong has been a part of China, but people in Hong Kong have wanted to leave China for their independence.
This conflict is rooted in 1842 when Britain invaded Hong Kong in order to seek another money source and to colonize new territories. Although Japan invaded China and Hong Kong during World War 2, the British influence increased again in Hong Kong after the war when Japan was defeated.
Since the British rule contributed to accelerate economic and industrial development in Hong Kong, Hong Kong and China have developed two different system. When the British rule ended in 1997, Hong Kong as a part of China was allowed to maintain its capitalist economy and partial democracy under Chinese communism, which is called "One country, Two systems".
At this time, China was threatened by people's demand of democratization as seen as a massive and violent protest in Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China in 1989. At the same time, however, Hong Kong was important for China because of its economic advancement and accessibility to foreign countries.
Hong Kong's western system and China's strict communist politics have so far coexisted in one country, but China's authorities still want to take strict control of Hong Kong like other cities in China. As a matter of fact, China has restricted Hong Kong's election and regulated the emigration to Hong Kong where some of China's strict rules, such as China's One Child policy, was not enforced.
The lack of freedom while having different system has made people in Hong Kong want to leave China and become independent.
